I gave back a XXXX to XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) in XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX closed the account formally in XX/XX/XXXX and told me they were writing the car off, and said I didn't owe them anything. They said the debt that was written off may be sold to a third party but I had no obligation to them. No one ever contacted me regarding this. In XX/XX/XXXX, I was buying a home and disputed the presence of this closed debt with XXXX XXXX XXXX with approx. $ XXXX balance. XXXX apparently REOPENED the account at that time and turned it active! Transunion dropped my credit score 123 points and started reporting late payments for an account that had been closed almost 6 years. I called XXXX, and they apologized for their mistake and immediately closed the account. XXXX and XXXX immediately restored my credit score. However, Transunion continues to this day to report missed payments on this CLOSED account. I never once missed a payment on this vehicle. I negotiated with XXXX to give the car back for sale in XXXX. I need XXXX to restore the original official account closing date ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and remove any reports of missed payments on this account. Also, I need Transunion to restore my credit score of XXXX.
