On XX/XX/2020 CapitalOne ran a hard inquiry on my credit report. I called CaptialOne the day I got the day the alert came from the Credit Bureaus that my credit was ran. I spoke to XXXX, she advised me it was an error on CaptialOne 's end. She provided me with the address to get the dispute taken care of. However, she told me I will need to wait a few days because the application she found didnt have an account number attached to it and I will need it to dispute the hard inquiry. After, I didnt receive anything with an account number, I called back on the XX/XX/XXXX and rep was able to close the account but still was unable to provide me an account number. I have written several letters to CaptialOne and the three credit bureaus ; XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. XXXX has removed the inquiry because of the fraud that happened and have placed a fraud alert on my account since XXXX of 2020. However, XXXX and XXXX is refused to remove the inquiry even though the inquiry is marked as fraud. I reached out to the police department and they advised because I never recieved a card, it isnt a crime. So I couldnt file a report. I was advised to reach out to CFPB to get a report filed and try to get it removed this way. As a consumer I need some help to get this fraud off my account. I am tired of large companies being bullies.
