On XX/XX/XXXX I was served a court judgment for a wage garnishment from a debt collection agency called CACH , LLC who obtained counsel. The original debt owed to XXXX XXXX XXXX apparently, in the approximate amount of {$960.00}, dating back to XXXX. The court order now reads the amount owed to be {$3000.00}, plus various arbitrary fees and interest. To my recollection, I have never owed any figure to that bank. So this all is very unsettling and confusing to me. I believe these charges to be in error, at least, and quite possibly gross fraud otherwise. I have recently begun to rebuild my credit, and this false charge and suit will be damaging beyond repair. I am newly unemployed, unfortunately. It is my understanding that such orders and attempts to collect may be well beyond the statute of limitations according to California law. Please help!
