Good afternoon, My husband and I have recently contacted our lender/mortgage company ( 21st Mortgage ) regarding a request to change our mobile/manufactured home from personal property to real property. According to the Texas XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, all we need to do so is to fill out a Statement of Ownership with all needed information and mail it to them. Part of the information that they require for this application is written consent from the lienholder ( 21st Mortgage ). I have contacted them numerous times today, XX/XX/XXXX, and spoken with a variety of individuals- most recently XXXX, XXXX ( XXXX being the supervisor ) - all of who claim their company refuses to send the needed written consent, as doing so would lessen their stakehold on the loan. They are stating that we must refinance our loan with them in order to receive written consent for the request. I spoke with XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX at approximately XXXXXXXX and spoke with XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX. I asked to speak with their customer service department to file a complaint. They placed me on hold for over 20 minutes, someone picked up the phone and then hung up. When we purchased the mobile home, we moved it to family land and had permission to do so. We now OWN said land, free and clear, and would like to convert the property from personal property to real property IE : attach the home and land together. This will allow us to file a Homestead exemption and save money on taxes as well as open the opportunity to sell the home and land down the road should we choose to do so. Unfortunately, 21st Mortgage is refusing to assist us in any way- the refinance would cost us money that we simply do not have at this point and without the conversion from personal property to real property, we are continuing to pay more in real estate taxes. 21st Mortgage XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, TN XXXX XXXX
