Consumer Narrative
On XX/XX/XXXX Someone broke into my husband 's work truck and stole his wallet. We called right away and got our cards turned off and new ones sent out. I went to the ATM XX/XX/XXXX to get money out. I realized that somebody had withdrawn {$3500.00} from my account my account. And there was a XXXX deposit not made but myself or husband. I called Wells Fargo right away and told them there was fraudulent activity. They basically told me that it was impossible for someone to withdraw that kind of money that wasn't a cardholder or account owner without ID. I told them about my husband 's wallet. He was treating me like I was lying and some sort of criminal trying to claim Fraudulent actions. He submitted a claim and froze my account and supposedly put a hard lock on it so nothing was able to act or 2 access. Over the next 3 days from branch to branch the thief was depositing bad checks and withdrawing anywhere from a {$1000.00} to {$3500.00} A-day. The XXXX and XXXX of XXXX there was withdrawing of XXXX, XXXX, XXXX, another XXXX with a more bad checks. They closed my account and transferred all of what I had left for money into a new one for it to continue to happen. I kept calling Wells Fargo and telling them this and and it continued to happen.. When I was told this this was taken care of they drained my account down to XXXX. All I could do is cry. Then all of these bounced Checks started coming through and made my account negitive and then they dipped into my Wells Fargo credit card for the overdraft which went over my {$1500.00} credit limit which Now its going to affect my credit negatively. This is any persons worse nightmare. I had to borrow money for the XXXX time in my life from my father because I had no gas in my car or food in my fridge for my children..Wells Fargo refused to give me A-line of credit until this was taking care of. I have never been treated so badly being called a liar and basically a criminal. Every time I was under the impression that this had stopped and been taken care of on their behalf it continued to happen. They literally drained Everything I had to my name. I haven't received a phone call, feedback or an update as far as to what is going on on. I have try to call them and they just keep telling me that I need to be patient for a 10 day investigation. I have filed 3 different police reports in 3 different cities for these all happened in. I am defeated, anxious and scared. Wells Fargo has been zero help. I have been a customer of theirs since 2003 and I'm absolutely disgusted with how they have handled this. I am looking into hiring a lawyer in dealing with this otherways.
