I received notice of a bill that was in the collection from Capital Accounts in late XX/XX/XXXX. I immediately responded in writing by certified mail on XX/XX/XXXX, disputing this bill because I do not owe any money to XXXX XXXX XXXX. I was sent back a " validation '' that had charges on it that clearly weren't mine and interest and fees which are not allowed by Texas Law. Capital failed to send me enough information to verify that I owed anything on a bill from XXXX. Capital Accounts basically extorted me by threatening to report the information on my credit report whether it was right or wrong if I didn't pay or set up a plan by XX/XX/XXXX. I decided that I didn't want to have to fight to get this incorrect information removed from my credit, so I decided to set up a payment plan just to make it go away. I set the payment up on XX/XX/XXXX and Capital Accounts reported this false information anyway. When I called to clear up the mistake agents they tell me that they can not see that a payment plan was set up in their system. I emailed them my confirmation 3 times, got passed around, and was placed on hold for hours. Finally, I was told that a supervisor would call me back ( by XXXX XXXX whom I was told was a supervisor on a prior call ). No one ever called me back. I was forced to cancel my credit card to stop the payments since Capital Accounts refuses to acknowledge that I set up a payment plan.
