On Sunday, XX/XX/XXXX, I applied for and was approved for on-line checking with Wells Fargo XXXX Banking. I was also given an account number. I called back about ten minutes later, and canceled the account, after reading that there was a {$25.00} monthly checking fee. I reconsidered, and called back trying to cancel my closing of the account, but was told that it was too late. On Monday, I applied again, and was approved again, and given another account number. Various other emails came, regarding how to set up my account, etc. Then on Thursday, XX/XX/XXXX, I received an email saying that my new account had been closed because of 'inconsistent ' information. I called to find out the issue, and was connected to the fraud department. They proceeded to present me with questions dating back to 20+ years ago. Some of the answers I knew ; some I wasn't sure about, They told me I failed the test, maintained the closure of my 2nd account. They went on to take my {$25.00} deposit fee ( after account had been closed ). I called the bank on XX/XX/XXXX, demanding they return my deposit back to my XXXX account, but the fraud department said there would be a 17-days-hold on my funds, while they investigated me and or my applications. I feel like my character has been defamed, and my deposit was unjustified, since they had already closed my account.
