I had spoken with representatives multiple times and made it very clear I could not afford to pay this debt unless it would be removed from the credit bureaus. First agent explained that upon payment it would be DELETED was then transferred to another rep to take payment. To verify, i again asked the debt would be removed. They said no it would not but only be updated to paid. This does not help me as I am trying to get into a mortgage transaction. The agent lied by saying it would increase my score. This is TOTALLY FALSE AND MISLEADING INFORMATION. I thanked them for their time and explained that I did not have the funds to spare if the debt would not be removed from the credit bureaus. The next time I called the agents again were well aware of my situation and my stance. It was heavily implied that the account would be removed as the agent told me he would have the supervisor make an exception for me. I felt confident that the agent was kind and sympathetic and was going to help me out. This is the ONLY reason I made the payment under the assumption that the account would be removed.
