Loan Depot, who has 3 of my mortgages, estimated costs for me to purchase a new home in XXXX XXXX, UT. When the home appraised for lower, the Loan officer called and said we would have to lower the Lon amount. He didnt mention and I didnt find out until the day of closing, that the lower loan amount meant I would be paying points ( XXXX ) to buy down the interest rate or that any discounts I was originally quoted would disappear. The loan officer wondered why no one had called to tell me this. He said his boss should have called. The loan cost me approximately an additional {$3000.00}. I was also told by the loan officer that someone would call me to discuss. No one ever did and I was held hostage the day of closing.
