I received a collections letter from Weltman Weinberg & Reis CO LPA for the amount of {$6300.00}. I realized this is the office of an attorney and per the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, 15 U.S.C. 1692e ( 3 ) a debt collector can't give the false presentation or implication that they are an attorney. The letter states " an attorney '' did not take part in the collections attempt but when I reviewed the secretary of state ( Ohio ) website, the company is registered as an attorney. There is no way to confirm if an attorney wrote the communication or not. I sent a letter dated XX/XX/2021 and the office received my letter on XX/XX/2021 as confirmed by certified mail USPS. The law office has not responded.
