Received garnishment in mail for a medical bill from 8 years ago. I am so confused because first it's a garnishment filed in XXXX state from a judgement from 8 years ago. I live in XXXX and have for 7 years. Second I don't recall ever receiving anything in mail either at all or not for a long long time since I've been in XXXX from XXXX stating you had the medical bill which I thought was required. If it was sent years ago then I'm not going to remember that and new letter should of been sent to my address in XXXX. I have received 2 letters this year recently from a different collection place called collection bureau of walla walla stating they had the account. How can two collection places have the same debt? I don't understand that and why wait so many years before filing this? I didn't even remember about the medical bill until receiving the collection from other company. I do not want a garnishment against me, it's embarrassing for employer to see and if the max % that's allowed is taken out, I won't be able to afford all my rent and bills anymore and will end up in even more debt. I can not afford and it was for medical procedure I had to have done and insurance barely covered. I was going to set something up with the collection place that sent me the letter to either lower amount or make payments here soon but then this showed up from a different collection company... .very confusing. I would rather make payment arrangements or do anything else other than a garnishment. I'm so upset especially since it was medical issue I didn't have control of.
