Consumer Narrative

Dear CFPB, I couldn't find a box to check that matches the issue that I am having, but I am relatively certain that its in CFPB 's jurisdiction and I need help. On XX/XX/2021, I purchased the Full Self Driving upgrade for my Tesla at a cost of {$10000.00}. It essentially allows the car to perform lots of functionality like driving itself thru navigation, etc ... Due to some type of technical glitch, although Tesla did take my money, they didn't provide me with the product. Its supposed to be installed within 1-2 days, and I confirmed I have a strong Wifi connection. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called Tesla to report the issue and they confirmed they would have it resolved, acknoledging its an internal issue for their " advanced team '' On XX/XX/XXXX, I called a 2nd time to inquire about status, to which they told me it would also be solved. I told them I'd either like the product, or a refund, but I can't have Tesla take {$10000.00} of my money. Tesla has a 48 hour return policy on this product, and they advised they can not refund me since its more than 48 hours, but I never had the product in the first place. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called a 3rd time to follow up, and was advised to take the Tesla into the service center to get this remedied. On XX/XX/XXXX, I took 3 hours out of my work day to wait 90 minutes at the Tesla Service center for my appointment. They COULD NOT fix the issue, telling me its a software problem for the " Advanced Team '' On XX/XX/XXXX, I called a 4th time to follow up, and was advised that I would just " have to wait '' and, I told them I'd be filing a complaint and they forwarded me to a supervisor who would be emailing me On XX/XX/XXXX, a supervisor named XXXX emailed me to let me know they could not process the refund, and that although there is a fix for the issues I'm having, provided no assistance in when or if Tesla would fix it. Over the period of XX/XX/XXXX-XX/XX/XXXX me and XXXX exchanged emails in which I told him I don't believe this matches up with Tesla 's company culture, its promise to its consumers, or the agreement for Self Driving. There is no reality in which a customer pays {$10000.00} for a product from a reputable company, and the company choses NOT to deliver the product, and the consumer is not entitled to a refund, and is given the run around. The icing on the cake here is that XXXX told me " I would also recommend scheduling a service appointment so they can assist with this as well ''. I need CFPBs help in either compelling Tesla to refund me, OR to deliver the product they originally promised me.
