I Sent a Request to Validate Medical Debt. I requested three specific things 1. Please provide breakdown of fees including any collection costs and medical charges. 2. Provide a copy of my signature with the provider of service to release my medical information to you. 3. I request full documentation of what you received from the provider of service in connection with this alleged debt. This Debt Collector failed to answer the three questions listed above. Instead they sent a vague letter stating " XXXX has verified this information with our client, and confirmed the outstanding balance of {$3300.00} '' The debt collector failed to provided breakdown of fees, medical services or treatment rendered, mover over they have failed to provide documentation that I gave permission for any medical or financial information to be provided to the current debt collector ( XXXX ). I am allowed under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ( HIPAA ) to protect my privacy and medical records from third parties. XXXX has failed to Validate the Medical Debt. And they are in direct violation of HIPAA laws.
