I disputed a 30-day late payment to my credit report during Covid 19 Unfortunately with the stay-at-home orders, my business was shut down most of 2020. When I called and spoke to the XXXX customer service person regarding my payment for XX/XX/2020 being paid late, I was told that as soon as I could bring my account up current that they would remove any late payment history from my account, as long as it was within the time frame we set, which was no more than 30 days. My account was paid late for the month of XX/XX/2020 however, was brought current by XX/XX/2020, within the XXXX time frame we had agreed upon. Now after the fact, XXXX is reporting a late payment still for XX/XX/2020. I have tried contacting them to have this removed as well as filed a CFPB previously since I could not get a response back by mail. The response that I received from the cfpb complaint from XXXX was that they will not remove the late pay : '' XXXX did not cause the error of reporting status '' There was no acknowledgement of anything that should have been taken into consideration with my account. This is not a normal practice for me, I am a business owner and pride myself on paying my debts on time with a good history. With the nation trying to get back on track financially, one would think that a large corporation would be much more willing to help a consumer with removing one late payment off of the credit history especially when the consumer has a XXXX balance and made the account current as stated within 30 days. Very disappointed
