I recently refinanced my vehicle loan through XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. Unfortunately, I also experienced some unforeseen circumstances ( Ive been XXXX with XXXX and also paying for my XXXX, XXXX, XXXX ) that prevented me from making my payment on time. I paid my payment 25 days late ( XX/XX/XXXX ) but paid it to a zero balance. I paid this payment with a debit card and the funds were immediately deducted from my account a and a receipt provided. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX reported that my payment was 30+ days last due. This was reported to Experian and XXXX, unsure of XXXX. I reached out to the XXXX and was informed that it took 4 days for my payment to post which was then 30 days and that they would remove it as a one time courtesy. I disagree with these business practices because even if they do remove it, Ill have 30+ days of an incorrect credit report. At a time where I may need to apply for XXXX XXXX to keep up with my medical expenses. Also, it doesnt seem like a courtesy when I wasnt actually 30 days late in the first place. There was no notification that if I paid with a debit card that their system would take 4+ days to reflect a payment on their end. They took it from me immediately with no issue. What possible payment method would post faster than debit? None! Im so disappointed with the lack of care and concern from XXXX and that this will happen again in the future because its their policy. It this isnt illegal credit reporting, its at the very least terrible customer service. I also think its unfair to expect the customer to go through the dispute process with all 3 credit bureaus instead of revoking the late payment themselves.
