Consumer Narrative

On XX/XX/XXXX, I was notified by a mortgage lender that I owed {$50.00} in a medical debt that had been turned over to collection First Financial Asset Management ( XXXX ). I had received neither any bills nor any phone calls from either the original creditor or the collection agency. They had sent to a prior address where I had not lived for four years and I had given them the correct address when being checked into the emergency room in XX/XX/XXXX. They also had my correct phone number on file. Over several days, I tried repeatedly to obtain the information regarding the debt from the original creditor, XXXX XXXX. After many conversations with XXXX XXXX, Ms. XXXX XXXX with XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) indicated that she would authorize the collection agency to remove the debt from my credit if I paid the {$50.00} to the collection agency. On XX/XX/XXXX, I spoke to Ms. XXXX XXXX with First Financial Asset Management and Mr. XXXX XXXX with First Financial Asset Management. They indicated that if I paid the debt, the collection would be removed from my credit report. I paid the {$50.00} immediately. I was asked to send an email to Ms. XXXX ( she gave me her email address ) and she would send me the XXXX control number to confirm the removal had been sent to the credit bureaus. I did not receive that information and followed up today to obtain the evidence the information had been removed from my credit report. I received a return call from Ms. XXXX XXXX that she was wrong and the information could not be removed from my credit report. I asked to speak to her supervisor. She indicated her supervisor, Ms. XXXX XXXX, was on a conference call and I could leave a message. The practices of this company are deceptive and this information should be removed from my credit report. Following is evidence of the email sent last week : Acct # XXXX - XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Thu, XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX XXXX ( 7 days ago ) to XXXX, me Good afternoon Ms. XXXX- Per our conversation earlier today, I have paid the {$50.00} owed to FFAM for a XXXX XXXX medical bill and that collection account will be deleted from my credit reports. Please forward the XXXX control number ( evidencing deletion of the collection ) at your earliest opportunity. Thank you for your assistance in this matter. I really appreciate your professionalism and willingness to work with me to resolve. Kind regards, XXXX XXXX XXXX
