On Monday, XX/XX/XXXX I received notification that my payment of {$400.00} had posted to Capital One and verified that the full amount had been pulled from the my other bank, XXXX XXXX XXXX. For two days though ( it's now XX/XX/XXXX ), I have had no access to the {$400.00} I transferred over, despite the fact that it said the payment had posted and NO other payment I've ever made to Capital One, no matter the size or other institution, has ever made me experience a delay. When I called in today to see why the payment was pulled from my other bank but I had no access to the funds through Capital One, I was told that Capital One sometimes, but not always, puts a hold on transfers like this one and I wouldn't have access to my funds until XX/XX/XXXX ( another six days ). If I had known I wouldn't have access to my funds for over a week, I wouldn't have transferred them. But at the time of the transfer I was NOT notified of a potential hold, and when I asked to either have the hold removed ( since it can be added, logic would suggest it can be removed ) or transferred back to my other bank so I can actually USE MY MONEY, I was told neither of those was an option. So basically I transferred money ( which I've done several times from different banks ) and capital one arbitrarily decided to put a hold on it for over a week, with absolutely no assistance. I would like this issue resolved immediately. Banks can not just take someone's money and then restrict access to it without letting them know that's a possibility. That's absolutely not right and needs to be rectified immediately.
