In 2001 when I started college I must have signed up for this private student loan which I hardly remember and from what I understood as a kid to be 5.5 % for {$10000.00} unfortunately come to find out years later when its in repayment they charge a variable interest on each payment which was not explained to me and I obviously didn't understand as a kid starting college. Payments are XXXX bucks XXXX XXXX gets applied to interest from what Im finding out now. Since then the payments are small so I never thought much of it, and they always say we cant send you physical mail, and calling to talk to someone is a pain if you ever get through, so as time goes on this gets put in back burner. Fast forward 20 years and this loan has only been paid down to {$7000.00}. I called them and told them I was a kid and did not understand this practice which looks a lot like predatory lending. They basically just said its a loan i signed and that's it. Offered no help no assistance other then an email to complain.
