I was attempting to lift a security freeze so that I could apply for an apartment rental. I utilized the online option to attempt to lift the freeze. Online it appeared successful, however, I was still denied approval on the basis of having " no credit history. '' However, I could clearly see based on the online portal that my credit history was there ( 13 years worth of information ). I called Equifax to assist with the issue and was told that I needed to submit the request in writing. When I asked for more information or why that was the case and why I couldn't receive assistance over the phone, they placed me on an indefinite hold. I requested assistance from a supervisor and was told they were " looking for someone. '' I now am unable to rent an apartment because the security freeze on my credit report is still showing up and I've received no assistance from Equifax on resolution of this matter. The date of the request to lift the security freeze was XX/XX/21. The phone call with the company took place on XX/XX/21.
