Consumer Narrative
On XX/XX/XXXX we entered a forbearance agreement with Homebridge Financial as our loan servicer due to financial stresses related to the COVID pandemic regulations. The forbearance began on our XX/XX/XXXX payment due and ended after our XX/XX/XXXX payment. Communication from Homebridge to repay the balance due was not clear and one sales representative in particular that called insisted that the only option was for a loan modification. We did not want any adverse effect on our credit and had the funds to repay in full the balance due from the forbearance period payments and escrow. The sales representative was insistent the modification was better even after we insisted we wanted to pay in full. We called later and spoke to Customer service and were give a dollar amount remaining due on XX/XX/XXXX after we had already made a payment for the XX/XX/XXXX payment due. We paid the amount we were given. The following month we made a regular payment for the XX/XX/XXXX payment due on that day but were unable to set up reoccurring payments because records still showed we were past due. We waited for payments to update on the system but called 2 weeks later and were told the amounts were still off and we were still short by 2 months payments, we disagreed and asked them to submit a ticket to investigate but made a second payment in the month of XXXX. Homebridge did not resolve the misallocation of funds and applied part of the repayment to the escrow account exceeding the amount needed to pay more than the annual amount. We made another 2 payments in the month of XXXX to resolve but with each payment Homebridge records still do not reflect on time or current. according to our records and all payments made we have now overpaid by 2 months worth of payments and continue to pay monthly on time but Homebridge shows us as being 30 days past due. Responses to written requests are automated or scripted and they never directly address any questions or resolutions to the issue. It is now the end of XXXX and we still have not received a written resolution or correction to our account to show on time. Luckily this has not been reported to credit but that is also our concern as this would be very damaging to our credit history even though the paper trail and payment records show full and current. - VERY dissatisfied customers
