This is a complaint against XXXX and Experian, not XXXX. I had tried to go through the normal chain of commands by filing a credit report dispute on a closed/paid XXXX credit card that was charged off and is reporting negatively on my credit. After not yielding a justifiable response, I had filed a 609 dispute on XX/XX/2021. As per my understanding, this is a right afforded to me via the Fair Credit Reporting Act under section 609. Upon receiving my results, I was not provided with the documentation requested that validates my ownership and/or history of this account. This prompted me to file a CFPB complaint on XX/XX/2021. I had requested the same information from my original 609 letter dispute. I wanted to be provided with my wet ink signature on the alleged new credit card application, which shall also include my social security number and full legal name, or at the very minimum, what is being used to validate my ownership of this account. Instead, the CFPB was provided with a BALANCE letter from XXXX. This letter was dated two months before I filed a complaint ( XX/XX/2021 ). This balance letter states that my alleged account has a XXXX balance. It contains no information validating the legitimacy/ownership/derogatory history of this account. This letter was uploaded to the CFPB portal and the complaints against Experian and XXXX were closed. Had the bureaus verified the documentation provided to them they too would see nothing more than a letter saying I have a zero balance.
