Consumer Narrative
On XX/XX/XXXX, I prepared a written ( typed ) dispute to Experian, against Experian about account " XXXX, '' account # XXXX. I mailed out the dispute via certified mail to Experian the following day on XX/XX/XXXX. Upon receiving the tracking receipt from the cashier at the window of the Postal Office, she notified me of the estimated date the dispute letter was set to arrive. I tracked the dispute at the end of the day it was estimated to arrive and observed it was delivered that day on XXXX XXXX. I understand it takes a few days for the dispute to actually be entered into the system so I logged into my Experian credit monitoring membership at usa.experian.com two ( 2 ) days later on XX/XX/XXXX and noticed the account in question was indeed in dispute. On the membership website, all " potentially negative accounts '' ( XXXX being one of them ), are listed in red on the website, but when the negative account is currently in dispute, it is blue. Experian notifies the consumer by email when an new dispute ( s ) are created, when a dispute ( s ) are complete, AND when there are results waiting for the dispute ( s ). When you log into your Experian membership account, any activity involving the disputed account ( s ) are all under the " notifications '' tab on the website. I had NEVER received an email regarding the account mentioned above because and as I previously stated, I logged in to check the status of a different account that I received email notifications about which I received approximately three ( 3 ) days after ( XX/XX/XXXX XXXX noticing the account in question was actively in dispute. When I logged in to check the status of that different dispute with Experian that I'd received an email about, I noticed the account, XXXX was no longer in dispute because it was red again. As I stated before, any activity involving a previously disputed account will come directly to the consumer 's email on file and will also be listed under the " Notifications '' tab on Experian. Before noticing my dispute about this account was closed and no longer open or active, I had received NO FORM OF NOTIFICATIONS AT ALL about the account in question-no emails and no details under my notifications online in usa.experian.com. When I clicked on the XXXX account, it didn't list anything new, it listed no completion date or anything. When I continued to scroll on the information about this account, at the very bottom where it says " Add Statement '' there was a section that said " Reinvestigation Info '' and it read " Information was updated as a result from your XX/XX/XXXX dispute. '' As I just mentioned, it had no date when this information was " updated '' ( by the way, there was no new information ), nor was there a date when the dispute was closed. That is even more negligence on Experian 's behalf to not notify a consumer about the details and/or results of a previously disputed account. The closure of my dispute came just three ( 3 ) days of it being in dispute. In addition to this recent neglect, my original dispute dispute to Experian was about Experian constantly reporting a late payment for an account that I was NEVER LATE PAYING. Not only were Experian reporting the account late, they would constantly report it late for XX/XX/XXXX and " OK '' for XX/XX/XXXX one month, then the following month, they would report the account late for XX/XX/XXXX and " OK '' for XX/XX/XXXX, then the month after that it would be back being reported as late for XX/XX/XXXX and " OK '' for XX/XX/XXXX, and so on. This has been going on for the last several months and still going on this very day. I even called Experian one previous month after speaking with the original creditor and being told that that is Not the information they reported, I asked Experian where and how are they getting this inaccurate info ( requesting method of verification ), and I was told that they don't have to tell me anything. If this is not apparent neglect and abuse on my consumer file then I don't know what is. All Proof of credit reports and dispute letters and tracking information will be attached to this complaint.
