I closed a credit account in XXXX ( XXXX ). My XXXX credit journey reporting, which is run by Experian, kept showing this account as open. I contact XXXX and then Experian to resolve this issue and no longer show this credit account as open. Experian requested I call the credit union first to ensure closure. I did this in XXXX ( XXXX ) and the credit union said my name and account doesn't even exist because the account had been closed/terminated two years prior. I called Experian back and they asked me to file a dispute online. I did so and submitted my information that was requested. In XXXX of XXXX, I receive mail that says my dispute was denied/declined. I called Experian back and got in touch in XXXX of XXXX, and explained the process above. They claimed that no dispute was processed and that's why I received the denied dispute result in the mail. Experian mentioned that they would file the dispute ( XX/XX/XXXX ) and today ( XX/XX/XXXX ) I received a notice of the dispute results. And the results show that the reporting will show the updated status " account paid and closed '', but that it will be reported until XXXX ... 10 years of inaccurate reporting. Experian has still yet to resolve my issue. The account from the credit union needs to be deleted/removed from all credit reporting. It does not exist anymore and is inaccurately reporting my credit.
