My identity was stolen in XXXX. I contacted the 3 credit beaureus to place a fraud alert for accounts being opened in my name. I was told any time an application for anything was filled ' that the companies would be required to contact me before opening the account requested. On XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX LA ( a self financial company ) opened an account using my information without contacting me to verify my identity. They are refusing to take my call to close the account saying that the request can only be done by email and with a report from the FTC. I completed a report with the FTC, but because their was a typo on my email, I couldnt get access to the report until I waited a certain time and refilled another complaint with them. Equifax is also refusing to remove this account from my credit reporting because I havent been able to get it closed through XXXX LA ( who is still refusing to close the account ).
