AmeriHome Mortgage Company began servicing my loan XX/XX/XXXX, and for the most part have handled it OK. All of that changed starting XX/XX/XXXX as I sought to refinance my loan with a company called Total Quality Lending ( TQL ) XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX based in XXXX XXXX XXXX CA XXXX Although I did sign a disclosure that allowed TQL to order documents for the express purpose of managing my refi loan, I expected they would act diligently, with proper judgement at no cost to me, unless permitted otherwise. Low and behold, I was shocked to learn that AmeriHome had issued payoff statements to TQL 9 times over a 5 month period -- yes, I said 9! I later learned that AmeriHome charged me {$60.00} for each payoff statement, the maximum they are apparently allowed under Nevada law. At no time did AmeriHome consider that their customer -- me, would be highly concerned about these charges. Further, they never contacted me to let me know what was going on. I could have tolerated XXXX or XXXX charges, but XXXX is an egregious abuse of the fiduciary relationship that I entrusted them with. Sure, TQL could also have informed me of the continued charges racking up on my account, but their agent woefully didn't know any better, or was outright negligent! Never did he mention any fees for Payoff statements. Despite my efforts, TQL would not accept any responsibility for the charges totalling {$540.00} ( {$60.00} x 9 ), stating that AmeriHome was the entity that assessed me for each payoff statement and I would have to work with them for restitution. I wrote several letters to AmeriHome which I've uploaded to your site, requesting that at least 7 of the charges be waived and was promptly denied. Please safeguard account numbers and other personal info contained in them, as you've indicated in your directions. I also spoke to at least 10 different Customer Service reps and got the same response. Bottomline -- AmeriHome 's reckless actions, while complicit with TQL, caused me financial harm and emotional stress through this ordeal. I am asking CFPB to intercede on my behalf.
