XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX fraudulently reported a collections claim of {$3600.00} to my credit. Their collection team, ACCOUNT ADJUSTMENT BUREA, contacted my ex and myself a month ago, threatening legal action and I explained that the case was closed on their behalf. They asked what my source was and I told them it was https : //public.courts.in.gov/mycase. When I read the case to her over the phone and mentioned dismissed with no prejudice and {$0.00} balance, she proceeded to hang up. Then today I saw it hit my credit report and I called the same number back, same lady answered, and told me that since you refused to provide proof, I pursued further action. I asked if I could get her name and she refused. She placed me on hold to contact corporate and hung up. She called right back and I asked why shed moved forward, knowing it was closed on their behalf, and she hung up again. I suffer with anxiety and cognitive disorders and this is too much. My ex was about to buy a house and now her credit is negatively impacted. My credit has grown the last two years and is also now effected. This is causing a lot of problems and hitting us both during a very tough time. Id surmise this is very illegal, given my source is a public government website. I would like to know what to do and how to fix it.
