For the last 4 Months, my Monthly payments have went from {$780.00} to {$1200.00} this has caused a hardship and a struggle to keep up and prevent from getting behind in my payments. I have reached out to my loan servicer on several occasions only to be bullied into paying without any suggestions or help or any available solutions Although I have a signed contract with a fixed rate loan, my payments exceeded {$400.00} over my contract amount. We are currently in a pandemic were hourly salaries are impacted from week to week based on consumer buying habits. There is currently a moratorium on mortgages through the Federal Govt yet Ameris Bank has engaged in price gouging and very slow relief efforts. I applied for the lower tax rate of 4 % with my local county Assessor 's office which took 10 weeks to go through the review and approval process. Although my loan servicer knew an approval would mean a reduction in taxes owed I was told that I had to continue to pay the overage until they received the information and proof. They have received this information yet when you call them they continually have an excuse as to why my mortgage payments have not been returned to normal, They have no urgency in trying to help me except to bully you by saying you must pay the overage until the issue is resolved. {$400.00} is a large amount of money, money that can be going toward other obligations to keep those bills from going past due!
