I have received a letter from CapitalOne saying I am pre-approved for the quicksilver credit card. My credit score is stellar, I have never had a missed payment, credit card utilization is 3 percent, 3 car loans are paid, all is sweet. the score is about XXXX. I applied and got denied. I called them and they sent me a letter saying " two many revolving accounts '' and this is not true. I had many accounts before covid, but when Covid started I closed several credit cards, paid all in full. I was scared that we might get into a bigger trouble with the pandemic. I decided to stay just with 2 credit cards instead of 10 I used to have, but Capital-one red-flags me on this basis. So, they received my credit score via soft pull, included me into the targeted list, sent me an offer, I accepted, they got the same credit score via hard pull, and they denied me. this is a rip off. Had I had any troubles on my file I would be able to understand the attitude, but since nothing has changed on my score for years, I can't tolerate it. last but not least - 2 years ago I filed a complaint about capital-one via this agency about the business credit card, they called me and apologized after the investigation. I think they included me to the list of " trouble-makers '' and do not want to have me as a customer. Why they sent me a " pre-approved '' letter in this case is they mystery for me. once again I want to accentuate - nothing has changed on my score. It has always been in the stellar range, they just do not want to give me a card. It is unfair. XXXX XXXX
