Consumer Narrative
Hello, I had my car refinanced through XX/XX/XXXXback in late XXXX. In early XXXX, a payoff check was sent by XXXX and XXXX ( new lender ) to Bridgecrest to payoff my loan. Bridgecrest received the check on XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX and XXXX noted they had the wrong amount sent on XX/XX/XXXX, so they reissued a new check with the correct amount and put a stop payment on the 1st check. Bridgecrest received the 2nd check and proceeded to sit on the check until XX/XX/XXXX when they finally attempted to cash it over a month after receipt. XXXX and XXXX sent a 3rd check that was received on XXXX XXXX by Bridgecrest. That to this day, Bridgecrest has failed to apply to my account. During this time, I was not notified that the checks weren't cashed. As I received an update on my credit report on XX/XX/XXXX. That stated my Bridgecrest account had been closed. However, on XX/XX/XXXX around XXXX, I received a call from Bridgecrest stating that they needed to speak to the new lender due to the checks having some issues and they wanted me the customer to contact the new lender for them. I obviously was unable to speak to anyone at XXXX or XXXX due to the time I initially received the call. I suggested to XXXX that, they normally make contact with the lenders with regards to checks and that has nothing to do with me so I advised they continue to try to contact XXXX or XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, my vehicle was repossessed without warning. When I spoke to Bridgecrest they stated it was due to lack of payment, which made no sense as I hadn't been notified that my vehicle was at risk of repossession. I think made several attempts on XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX to resolve the situation with XXXX along with XXXX involved in the matter with no avail. As Bridgecrest, constantly was stalling telling me that there was no one that could verify the check being received back in XX/XX/XXXX, yet I was never given an option to speak to anyone who had knowledge on fixing the situation. I was constantly referred to having to " wait '' until a manager can resolve the issue. However, here I am 9 days since the repossession and no further along in getting a clear understanding from Bridgecrest. The only thing I'm told it's my fault to keep the account current, which has no standing since the account was closed on XX/XX/XXXX, but yet reopened by Bridgecrest. This company received a payout 3 months ago and this issue is still not resolved. Bridgecrest is without a doubt the most incompetent and fraud ridden finance company in existence.
