My lender ( American Pacific Mortgage ) has been dragging their feet since I requested our PMI to be removed. House prices have gone up in my area, along with us doing some renovations to our home. I had to call them to check on the status 3 times before they even sent out a letter asking for the list of home improvements and a check for a new appraisal. In the previous 2 calls, they said the letter would be sent out, which was a complete lie since it was not even sent out yet the 3rd time I called. All the calls were a couple of weeks apart so they wasted a bunch of my time. After receiving the letter from them and then sending back the required items, I have not heard back for a month. I called them to see whats going on, in which they responded that they have not received anything and can not check with their appraisers. They are literally dragging their feet and stealing peoples money. I had a friend who removed his PMI seamlessly with another lender so Im not sure why my lender is giving me such a hard time. Please investigate this company and take appropriate action. Thank you.
