Consumer Narrative
I don't even know where to begin. On my credit report there are 3 collection account. Two of the three I have paid off, even though they did not belong to me, and the third one I am disputing because it is the banks error. Since two have been paid by me why should the collections still be on my credit report?? WHY does the company still get to harm me if they have been paid?? I am SO DISGUSTED with the credit reporting system. Then the one I am disputing should not be on my credit report until the company reporting the collection and myself have come to an agreement on the account. WHY am I being punished for something that has not been resolved?? I have ALWAYS paid my bills on time or before they are due.I had a home mortgage and then paid the loan off after 8 months, but the credit reporting agencies took points away from my score. This make no sense at all. The companies that put the accounts in collection that I have paid got their money. WHY do they get to do me harm for the next 5 or 7 years or however long they stay on a report. It is hurting me financially. I am trying to buy a new car, but I can't because the interest rate is too high due to the collections. Also, when I have gone to look at cars the dealerships have been trying to get me approved with multiple lenders. Now I can't get a good interest rate or I have been completely denied a car loan because of the collections and they say I have too many inquiries on my report. The car dealerships are so desperate to sell a car that they put my info through multiple lenders. This is also not right. I have low credit usage, pay ALL my bills on time and my credit cards are paid in full every month. None of this is acceptable to me. I am sick and tired of hearing things like " oh well your fico score to purchase a car is different then a regular fico score ''. WHY is this allowed?? Do you realize how harmful this is to not only me, but I am sure hundreds of thousands of consumers. I paid off a car loan a year ago and my score dropped. I paid off a personal loan and my score dropped. I paid off my house and my score dropped!! How is any of this acceptable?? I should be able to go buy a brand new with little to no down payment and an interest rate of XXXX or XXXX not XXXX based on my payment history, my low credit utilization and my stability at my job and my home. But instead, I am driving in a car that I question every day " am I going to make it to work today or am I going to breakdown?? ". I am so UPSET. iT IS UNBELIEVABLE HOW SHADY EVERYONE IS.
