On XX/XX/2021 I used my Capital One credit card to send funds to pay for some airline tickets to a travel agent in XXXX. The travel agent required the XXXX service for this transaction. I was unaware that this is treated by Capital One as a Cash Advance, for which I was charged a substantial fee of {$100.00} ( {$53.00} + XXXX ). I was already charged an initial fee by XXXX for using the Credit Card and I did not expect for these additional fees to be charged to my account. I have always paid my bills on time and avoid paying interest and fees as a general rule. I would have used another method of payment if I was aware that these charges would be imposed. Furthermore, in addition to the Cash Advance fees, I am also getting charged interest because of the Cash Advance. The interest rate for Cash Advance is 24.90 %, while I have pretty much always avoided interest by paying my previous statement balance in full every month. I did not receive any type of notice before proceeding with my transaction that Capital One would process this as a Cash Advance. I DID NOT go to an ATM and use my credit card to withdraw cash. I have already spoken with Capital One and they claimed they could do nothing for me. I feel that this is a UDAAP violation as a Deceptive practice, as well as Abusive. I am getting pummeled with a huge interest rate and will now continue to do so until I can pay my card completely down to {$0.00}.
