I paid a contractor by the name of XXXX XXXX a duplicate payment of {$3600.00} via XXXX on XX/XX/2020 in which I asked my credit card company to refund the duplicate payment. I provided proof of the paid invoice signed by both myself and the contractor. I also provided a copy of the email he sent in which he requested for a refund to be made to me as he confirmed I didn't have a balance outstanding. Instead of refunding a refund, Capital One provided a chargeback and has since been charging me interest on a balance I didn't owe. I have spoke with both XXXX and Capital One to get the issue resolved. At this point XXXX said they are willing to refund me my money once Capital One reverses the chargeback that occurred in XXXX of XXXX and provide proof other than my billing statement to show where the money was returned back to XXXX. XXXX has taken the position that they are yet to receive or be able to track the money that was supposed to be sent back to them and are awaiting proof of the funds that were supposedly send to XXXX from Capital One.
