I am writing to file a complaint against my current mortgage company, Amerihome. My Account number is # XXXX. Reason is Amerihome Mortgage Company states they have pay property taxes on my behalf from my escrow account to XXXX County Treasure Office in the amount of {$1100.00}. I have contacted the Treasure Office and they have not received a payment for my property taxes FROM AMERIHOME. I followed up with Amerihome requesting proof of the payment that they states have been sent. This request has been made five times over the last three months. I have yet to receive a letter or email as they have stated they were sending out. On XX/XX/2021, once again I contacted Amerihome and they stated they had followed up on this situation and contacted the XXXX Treasure Office and spoke with XXXX on XX/XX/2021 and she stated that they received payment on XX/XX/2021 from Amerihome for my taxes. After the phone call, I went to the Treasure Office and obtain copies of the payment history ( which is enclosed ). Spoke with XXXX, who stated if there was a payment from Amerihome it would be noted on my account and the payment would have gotten sent back to the company because there were no taxes due at this time. I asked to spoke with XXXX ( who was at lunch ). I continue to explain to XXXX of the conversation I have had with Amerihome. At this time she told me that THEY COULDNT HAVE SPOKE WITH XXXX ON XX/XX/2021 BECAUSE SHE WAS OUT OF THE OFFICE FOR THAT WEEK. I found that interesting seeing that anyone can go to the website and pull up the county treasure and found XXXX XXXX XXXX name. After leaving the office, once again I called Amerihome wondering if they simply have the wrong address since I have not received any response to my request and maybe the taxes were paid on the wrong property. I spoke with XXXX where she verified the correct address and told me there was nothing she could do. To give you some more information and background on this situation, on XX/XX/2021 I closed on my home, a refinance with XXXX XXXX XXXX At that time I was required to pay my property taxes on the house in the amount of {$1100.00}. This amount was included in the loan amount. On XX/XX/2021 the loan was sold to Amerihome Mortgage Company. After contacting Amerihome I learned they had taken {$1100.00} out of my escrow account, stating it was for my property taxes. I told them that the taxes were pay at the time of closing and there were no taxes due at this time. I can not understand why they decided to take the money out and pay the taxes when it is clearly stated on my loan papers taxes was already paid. The XXXX Treasure Office provided me that proof of the last payment made by XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXat the time of closing, received on XX/XX/2021. Upon searching for the proper government entity to file my complaint, I have learned there are several complaints file against this company and a lot of the complaints are in reference to escrow account ( mishandling ). This leads me to believe this company should be investigated on how they are handling their clients escrow accounts. Hopefully this matter can get resolve and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
