I am disputing Bankruptcy XXXX on my Transunion credit report. On XX/XX/XXXX TransUnion has stated that they were able to verify that the Bankruptcy is being reported correctly via XXXX. I have multiple letters from XXXX dated XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX stating that XXXX could not verify Bankruptcy XXXX and that they are no longer reporting Bankruptcy XXXX. How can TransUnion verify the Bankruptcy using XXXX as their source when XXXX has no record of the Bankruptcy. I have attached documents from XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX that prove XXXX DID NOT verify Bankruptcy XXXX with TransUnion and has even attempted to contact TransUnion to have the Bankruptcy removed from my credit report. TransUnion states that you can get more information about how they verify public information records by going to the website www.transunion.com/legal/public-records. When you go to this website it states that TransUnion gets their information from XXXX. XXXX does not have any bankruptcy information for me. So XXXX DID NOT verify that this bankruptcy should be reported by TransUnion. By continuing to report Bankruptcy XXXX on my credit report TransUnion is violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act and can be fined up to {$1000.00} per occurrence.
