I have 2 Capital One Credit Cards. Earlier this year, I began to pay them off after they were past due. One of the cards I paid off in full as I had an immediate use for it. After paying the full balance, the card was unrestricted. I inquired about when the other card would lose its restriction as I was 2 months into making on-time payments well over the minimum due. I didn't get a proper answer and the rep told me they didn't have information on that at the time. This was in XXXX. I called today, XX/XX/21 to lift the restriction on the second card as it is paid off in full and has a {$0.00} balance. When I spoke with the rep today, I was told that my second card is restricted indefinitely. I asked if this meant the card was useless and they gave me a roundabout answer, so I asked if this means I would never be able to use the card again. I was told yes. I understand the payments were late, but I was never informed about an indefinite restriction placed on the card, even when asking about it a month prior. I'm now in a tighter financial situation, which I would not have been had I known I wouldn't be able to use the card since I would have made smaller payments.
