Consumer Narrative

XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX Credit Dispute XX/XX/XXXX Credit Dispute : Acima Merchant On XX/XX/XXXX A lease agreement was signed for XXXX. Payments were made to the merchant and though the epidemic of Covid 19 I endured hardship and struggled to stay afloat. However, I continued to make my payments and consistent as possible. Toward the end of the last few months of my lease Acima reported XX/XX/XXXX balance {$810.00} Paid XXXX XX/XX/XXXX while taking my payment and seems to have created many inconsistences around the time I attempted to settle in full of good faith. Exhibit D which contradicts Exhibit C payment history. XXXX was reported and reflected with {$160.00} balance and paid {$440.00} on XX/XX/XXXX which contradicts Exhibit C payment history from my banks. In the month of XX/XX/XXXX, I logged into the portal and clicked on purchase lease which would allow me to pay it off and be set complete. Mind you as I was struggling, I just wanted worry about owing any other monies and with good faith completed my lease in full. 10 days ( about 1 and a half weeks ) later I received an email saying I stilled owed monies so I called in on XX/XX/XXXX and had a lengthy conversation with representative and he insisted I owed more monies ; I asked the amount which he explained to me {$160.00} and that would wrap up my lease in which I paid again. The following week I received a text message that an ACH draft of XXXX was completed out of my XXXX XXXX XXXX account. I was not very please but I choose to let it go and hope that even if it were extra money taken out, I would surely be completely paid off. Mind you, I had every intention of paying in full however with the misleading of the amount owed and multiple times trying to set complete I was completely frustrated while dealing with trying to keep my lights on and food to feed my kids. I have enclosed print out of payments to confirm my statements, lease contract and the printout of the reports done by Acima. Prior to this I have made several attempts to make this amicable. All attempts have fails dispute this being the 4th lease that I had back-to-back in which case I paid all in full and never had an issue prior to this incident. I disputed this with XXXX Report number XXXX. Spoke to XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX they could only go based on what the merchant says and recommended me to go to higher level to rectify this. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX sent me an email saying my dispute results were that it remained. I XXXX XXXX with good faith have and paid them in full and the collections and late mark are wrong, and I would like this removed from my credit. It has been a hard year for my family via COVID 19 and we have struggled tremendously but I assure you that the merchant has not had an empathy and more so after my good faith and ethical actions of paying them they have impacted my credit and have hurt me on top of the recovery from this epidemic. All I ask is to make this right and hope for your decision to be in my favor. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX
