On XX/XX/XXXX I received a collection letter for {XXXX} owed to XXXX XXXX originating on XX/XX/XXXX. And discharged on XX/XX/XXXX. The letter claimed it was from a XXXX XXXX XXXX account. I did not have a XXXX XXXX XXXX account, in fact I did not have a XXXX XXXX account at all. In XXXX, I opened a XXXX XXXX XXXX account which has never has never been in arrears. Ive spoken with both XXXX XXXX XXXX and they advised me to report it to all 3 credit agencies. SIMM Associates ( the debt collectors ) said they would open an in house investigation regarding letter and advised to file police report. I dont know what to do.
