Im in the process of purchasing a mortgage loan and I had a dispute remark on my Equifax credit. I needed the remark removed before I could proceed with purchasing the home. Last month in XXXX they was able to remove the remark the same day, but the remark would keep appearing after a week. The remark came back in the beginning of XXXX and I called Equifax to get the remark removed. They told me it could take up to 30 days but the previous month they was removing it the same day! I kept checking every day to see if the item was removed and the customer service reps kept telling me the item was removed. I specifically asked has the item been removed and if my loan provider run my credit will the remark not show. He stated yes its been removed and it will not show. My loan provider ran my credit report and the remark was still showing. This happened two other times this month with Equifax reps telling me the item has been removed. I kept asking to speak to a supervisor and they would hang the phone up in my face or tell me a supervisor isnt available. I spoke with one rep and he told me the previous reps didnt know exactly what they were doing and every time I called they started the dispute over and kept putting in the wrong code for the item to be removed. My item still has not been removed from 3 weeks ago and the seller has decided to take another offer on the house. I have been able to get this matter resolved with XXXX and XXXX immediately, but Equiifax is not being professional and dont have the necessary training. I am speaking to a lawyer about this matter because theyre ruining people livelihoods. I have names of the reps and the supervisor and confirmation numbers.
