On Friday, XX/XX/2021 I was contacted by First Financial Asset Managment. I was told that I owed money due to an accident that I had. I was lead to believe that if something wasn't done that there would be legal action taken against me. I was told to take the weekend and figure out my finance and callback in. On Monday, XX/XX/2021 I called back to First Financial Asset Management and I was told they refused to acknowledge that they were in fact a debt collection agency. They continued to say that they work for XXXX and they were simply just trying to confirm the balance and make arrangements on my account. I then said to them that if they are attempting to collect a debt then they are in fact acting as a debt collector. I was told that they did not have to follow the FDCPA, which was why they continued to make false and misleading statements. Instead of stopping the activity they lied about who I was speaking to and refused to transfer me to a supervisor. Finally, when I was transferred to a Supervisor he hung-up on me because he refused to take a {$5.00} payment over the phone. He stated that the minimum amount he can take over the phone was {$50.00}. This is after the employee said the minimum was {$100.00}. The company wanted me to set-up {$75.00} payments for two months and then they discuss other options later down the line. I told them I wasnt interested in doing that because my financial situation would not allow me to pay that much. This company is full of collection bullies. They spend there time trying to make themselves sound like lawyers and trying to set the belief that the matter is going to escalate when that wasn't what they were hired for. They use deceptive wording such as " claim number '' when in fact the account number is a file number in their office. Please request access to all calls. Even when they were told of my intent to file a complaint they didnt back off. Instead they got angry and hung-up on me. Please stop this company from abusing consumers!!
