Consumer Narrative
XXXX XXXX marked me incorrectly as deceased on XX/XX/XXXX for account ending in XXXX. They also are still incorrectly reporting late payments on a credit card account ending in XXXX after 60 days of them promising they fixed it. I immediately called in to have it fixed, as they caused me to suddenly have NO credit score due to their incorrect reporting of being deceased. I received a letter stating they looked into my account and found nothing wrong on XX/XX/XXXX. This was for the wrong account after I explained in detail which account was showing the issue. It has now been 2 months and XXXX XXXX refuses to update or notify the remaining credit bureau that I am not dead. I have called XXXX XXXX and Equifax ( which is reporting me as deceased STILL ) and both have said it is not their fault, and that the other is the culprit. I have now lost a total of {$2200.00} in earnest money that I put down on a house because of XXXX XXXX Irresponsible and unhelpful customer service. Thousands of dollars. Gone. When I call them now they just state it shows here on your account that you need to wait 90 days from XX/XX/XXXX meanwhile they initially told me multiple times they would fix it IMMEDIATELY because it is holding me back from buying a house! The resolution they are trying to feed me is 120 days of having a critically negative impact to my credit score due to XXXX XXXX gross negligence. They are abhorrent at customer service and are causing my family and I extreme grief over their mistake. They have been horrible in trying to fix it and unhelpful in any way. In addition to this, they were supposed to delete late payments for an account ending in XXXX for the months of XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX, which I received a letter for dated XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX STILL shows those late payments as being reported by XXXX XXXXXXXX as recently as XX/XX/XXXX. So XXXX XXXX again is ruining my credit report with inaccurate information. The correct reporting from XXXX XXXXXXXX should show 0 missed payments for all three bureaus across accounts XXXX and XXXX, and should be REPORTING ME CORRECTLY AS NOT DECEASED. This is the bare minimum expected of any financial institution. How did XXXX XXXX even let this happen in the first place? Equifax : Fix me in your system. I am not deceased. Transunion : I have incorrect late payments marked in your system for my XXXX XXXX card ending in XXXX. I have tried several times now to get you to update these, even providing the same letter attached directly from XXXX XXXX stating these are not late payments and are incorrect. Update these please.
