Consumer Narrative

I found out that MRSBPO LLC had opened a collections account via a credit monitoring service as derogatory mark against my account. The account was opened XX/XX/XXXX. Previously I had no notification, or contact with MRSBPO LLC. The original account was a XXXX account which had an additional month of service billed after cancelation of the account, which was disputed with XXXX. Originally it was attempted to be resolved directly with XXXX but they did not have enough length of record to determine why this additional month of service was owed. XXXX refused to drop the amount, even though I had record of all months of service paid in full up to the receipt and confirmed date of return of equipment. Which by direction of XXXX themselves, was to be specifically XX/XX/XXXX in order to NOT incur another month of payment. This debt was passed to collection. A company called XXXX XXXX XXXX opened a similar tactic account with out ever contacting me. This was submitted in a previous CFPB complaint ID : XXXX. XXXX XXXX was supposed to send me written debt verification, we sent some emails, confirmed mailing address, etc. Talked with them on the phone, they closed the account they had opened on my credit with OUT verifying debt. And then never sent me anything or called me back, etc. It appears they just passed the account on to MRSBPO LLC. Which some background research has lead me to find that they attempt to notify XXXX accounts by sending a MMS message image to phones. A tactic commonly utilized by scammers and is prone to being automatically filtered by anti-spam software on newer smartphones. Having never sent a written letter ( which a correct address would have been confirmed from the dealings with XXXX XXXX ) or a voicemail, phonecall, etc. When I called them to notify they had fraudulently opened my account with out ever making a meaningful attempt to notify or verify the debt they denied they had done anything such, and suggest I provide my attorneys number. I expressed to XXXX XXXX that I had a full record of my payments to XXXX from starting service, which XXXX themselves admitted they do not even have. Of which I payed in full ever month of service up to my physical return of the equipment. At this point the account is just being bounced from agency to agency and they are utilizing damage to credit score to bully a payment. Attached was the originally disputed account from XXXX XXXX, the last email correspondence and the new account as reported on credit monitoring services.
