As an XXXX for XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, I applied for a Spark-branded business credit card with CapitalOne today Friday XX/XX/2021, using the Tax-ID number belonging to XXXX. During the application process I was asked for my personal legal name and social security number underneath a note on the application that read that my personal information would only be used to identify the applicant. Moments later, the application was declined and I received a notice the CapitalOne had used both my personal XXXX and XXXX reports in a hard inquiry which affects my personal credit score. I called the reporting agencies to dispute this and they told me I needed to speak to CapitalOne. I called CapitalOne who refused to acknowledge that they fraudulently advertise that personal information will only be used for identification during application for a legal business entity. They simply stonewalled me with the position that personal information is used for business credit, but their application makes no mention of this. I am trying to repair my personal credit post-Covid and would never have applied for this card under full disclosure by CapitalOne. XXXX has a good ( B-grade ) credit rating all on its own and as its own legal entity does not need its rights violated by being discriminated against based on the applying XXXX 's personal credit history. I wish to petition the CFPB to instruct CapitalOne to remove the hard inquiries from my personal credit report.
