Consumer Narrative
When I went to XXXX XXXX I signed a promissory note my freshman year to take out a $ XXXX loan for my tuition. To my knowledge that was the only loan I had once I graduated. After my freshman year I obtain a XXXX XXXX and received multiple scholarships and became a part of multiple groups like the XXXX Program that gave scholarship money for the the next 3 years that I was there. I also moved off campus my sophomore and junior year. I didn't move back until my senior year. Once I graduated I found out that my school took out a loan for me my junior year for about $ XXXX. I knew nothing about this money and I saw no parts of it. I advised the department of education that this was fraud and submitted a fraud claim. They inturn sent me a copy of the promissory note from my freshman year basically saying since I signed that my school had the right to take out loans without my knowledge. That is some bull. I pay all my bills and I'm currently paying on the $ XXXX loan I had. I just refuse to pay this until someone can show me where or how this money was applied to my tuition. Any bill that I pay has a breakdown of the charges. That's all I'm asking for is a breakdown. Show me how this was applied to my tuition and I will pay. Noone seems to be able to do that and that is my problem. There was no reason for my school to have to take out a loan for me my junior year. I lived off campus so my tuition should have been way lower. If I didn't need any loans my sophomore year I should not have needed any my junior year. I had the same scholarships. Also I moved back on campus my senior year and not showing any loans for then. What since does that make? How would I need loans when I stay off campus but don't need any when I move back on campus. Tuition should be way higher. It makes no sense. Anybody should be able to see that and agree. Also last year the department of education took my taxes. I disputed it and started the process for arbitration but then my money came back in the mail and my credit was updated to show this as a closed account. Also, about a month ago I was trying to refinance my home when I was denied due to credit. I went and checked it out on XXXX XXXX and it showed this account as closed but it was still showing a payment history. So I disputed this through XXXX XXXX and they updated it on XX/XX/21 on XXXX to show correctly now XXXX screen shot attached XXXX but on Equifax they put it on there as an open account now showing all these late payments. It has caused my credit score to drop XXXX points. All credit bureas should be showing the same way TransUnion is.
