I opened a cell phone account with XXXX XXXX somteimes in 2017 at the XXXX XXXX Branch on XXXX XXXX, XXXX, CA. I used the phone for barely a week, returned the phone back to the location, paid the re-stocking and the usage fees and cleared the account. Few month back I pulled my credit report and noticed a {$52.00} debt collection being reported as not paid for 15 months. At no times, XXXX ever contacted me, or sent a letter of unpaid charges ( if any ) or made an attempt to notify me. This in my books a fraud and illegal misuse of an account by a XXXX loaction/XXXX. They sold the account to the debt collector in XXXX, TX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, TX XXXX ) XXXX named SOUTHWEST CREDIT SYSTEMS. This debt collector agency and XXXX XXXX both gave me run -around for about 3 months with every time something new to inform or for me to do. Due to their negligence, I am unable to secure a good car loan rate due to 15 months of late/unpaid payments showing up on my account. After getting fed up, I cleared the account and paid the {$52.00} but my credit is scared forever showing 15 months of late payments. It's their unwillingness to cooperate, investigate and or clear the account resulted in a painful experience for me. Again, we are talking about {$52.00} and I had no problem paying but it was a matter of principal, right business practices and legally to help the consumers.
