On today XX/XX/2021 I contacted the offices of Credit Management , LP to speak with a representative regarding a collection account listed on my credit report. While speaking to the agent and asking questions regarding the account she continually became upset. I asked several times was there someone that I could contact via email she then intentionally disconnected the call in the midst of me speaking. Before hanging the phone up in the middle of the discussion I tried asking for her name and or representative credentials, she declined. She repeatedly asked me to verify an account that Ive notified Credit Management and the original creditor XXXX XXXX was a fraudulent account. I also spoke with a fraud department representative of XXXX XXXX who asked for a police report that I could not provide because I no longer reside in XXXX and the police department here in XXXX notified me that the account is too old and the police report should be filed in XXXX the original state where the fraudulent account was opened. Ive asked Credit Management on numerous occasions for validation of this said debt whether it be my signature on any original documents or my drivers license along with any documentation proving that I did intact open this account with XXXX XXXX. None of this could be provided to me. This would be my fourth attempt at handling this derogatory account with both the original creditor and the collection agency. Ive filed a previous complaint with the CFPB which in response Ive noticed an update on XX/XX/2021 where the account is now being listed as closed with a balance on my credit file, not removed. However, although they ( Credit Management has closed the account according to my credit report I received a letter today dated XX/XX/2021 from Credit Management regarding payment on this now closed account. Ive spoken with several different representatives of Credit management and Ive also reached out to XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/2021 to resolve this matter. To which each attempt has been unsuccessful. Although this debt is not mine and nor can any documents be provided for validity of this information Ive offered to settle the account with the hopes of having the account permanently removed from my credit report for inaccurate and not factual statements, this was also denied.
