There is a Unknown yet validated account reporting with a partial reference/account number # XXXX which I have been advised by legal counsel is out of compliance with the FCRA XXXX I XX/XX/2020 I contacted the Fair Trade Commission in regarding a suspicious and unknown account found to be reporting on my credit by Equifax. After numerous written requests to remove the inaccurate information I mailed the furnisher and included written Notice to Furnisher of Information detailing their obligation and duty to correct and update inaccurate information as per the guidelines advised by the FCRA. The federal Fair Reporting Act ( FCRA ), 15 U.S.C. 1681-1681y, imposes responsibilities on all persons who furnish information to consumer reporting agencies ( CRAs ). I received no reply and subsequently with advise by the FTC to contact the bureau still reporting the inaccurate fraudulent account therefore, I wrote letters to Equifax detailing the ID theft on XX/XX/2020 and again XX/XX/2020 I advised Equifax of the Identity theft and the fraudulent account and to date I have yet to receive a response and the fraudulently opened accounts is still being reported to Equifax by the unknown furnisher ( See attached copies of letters of dispute mailed ).
