On XX/XX/XXXX a collection account was placed on my credit report from XXXX XXXX and it says the original creditor was XXXX insurance. I have never had any products with XXXX nor have I ever seen or heard of this debt. My report states the collection was assigned to the agency on XX/XX/XXXX, yet it just popped up on my Equifax credit report on XX/XX/XXXX and Ive never received correspondence regarding the debt. I spoke with an agent from XXXX insurance on XX/XX/XXXX and gave her my social security number as well as many other personal identifiers to see if she was able to find any accounts, open or closed, under my name. Nothing was found as Ive never been a customer with them. I then spoke with the collection agency directly on XX/XX/XXXX and the representative on the phone wasnt able to pull up an account in their system with my name, address, or social. Both the collection agency and original creditor say they have no record of me in their systems, yet I have this collection shown on my report. I attempted to reach out to Equifax and they have not been helpful with this. Another thing to mention is under remarks this account states consumer disputes. Reinvestigation in progress. While I do dispute the validity of this account, I have never formally put in a dispute so I dont understand where any of the information theyre reporting is coming from.
