Consumer Narrative

I have recently identified incorrect information on my Equifax consumer credit report. There are several inquiries which I have indicated were not authorized by me and have been identified as fraudulent or the result of an attempt of identity theft. I have added initial fraud alerts to my consumer reports. I have notified Equifax of the fraudulent inquiries and every attempt to dispute them results in the same response that " Inquiries are a factual record of file access and will remain on the credit report for two years ''. However, the information being reported is inaccurate as it was possibly the result of identity theft or fraud. As indicated previously, I was a victim of the Equifax Data Breech and believe my information was compromised. As it stands, Equifax is refusing to properly investigate my claims and resolve my dispute. I recently filed a dispute through the CFPB website ( CFPB # XXXX ) indicating the inquiries and their response was that the verbiage, format and associated documents in my complaint are similar to other complaints received by credit repair agencies. Because the complaint did not appear to be a direct communication from a consumer, they were not going to give my complaint any further consideration. This is unacceptable as a response to a legitimate complaint. I am very capable of researching the Fair Credit Reporting Act and citing the applicable regulations when launching a complaint - and I do not work for nor have I retained a credit repair agency. If Equifax refuses to properly conduct an investigation into my concerns, I will have no other option than to pursue litigation. At this time, I am making a final request to Equifax to investigate and remove the incorrect/fraudulent inquiries from my credit report within 30 days or I will seek legal action. The inquiries which were made without a permissible purpose and the result of identity theft are as follows and should be removed. XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX XXXX XXXX XX/XX/XXXX After researching and confirming with the bank, the following inquiries are currently reflecting as hard inquiries and should be reflecting as soft inquiries.
