Re : Prior Claim XXXX See that claim for details regarding specifics, if needed. It seems that I am not being believed and subsequently that claim was closed by Capital One. I do not agree for the following reasons : I saw that my application for a Capital One Credit Card online was DENIED. Yet the company called me to say that it looked like someone was trying to open a Credit Card in my name, leaving a voice message. I took the time and care to call back and say : 1 ] No, it was me trying to apply. 2 ] However, the online application app showed : DENIED 3 ] I told the customer service rep unequivocally that I did NOT WANT the Credit Card [ and the application had already been DENIED according to the online website ]??? In the mail a few days later I received the information on my new, but RESTRICTED, credit card?!? I claim this is the company 's error. How can it be proven that my application was approved, when it had been flagged and placed on hold by the company as a fraudulent application IN THE FIRST PLACE? I have requested this error NOT BE REPORTED to my credit records. A big company like Capital One ... what harm or negative action have I undertaken, that I should be penalized ... and what exactly is the benefit to Capital One in reporting this mistaken scenario? AN ANSWER TO THIS LAST QUESTION IS ALL THAT I NEED.
